I had a phase test today and it was close to the end and I’d done all I could so was waiting for it to end a bit bored. So I decided to write a short story in the questions booklet knowing they don’t collect those in. In this short story I wrote something along the lines of:
There once was a man, a very boring man, a man who taught SQL. He went boring car going to boring SQL conventions. and when he got home he had tea, not green tea, no just boring standard tetly’s tea.
Afterwards he told us to put the questions booklet in the answer booklet, since I’d just took the piss out of him I clearly didn’t do that and just put the answer booklet on the pile, afterwards he check the pile for question books and noticed I hadn’t put mine in, and came over to me. When asked for it I said I rather no one read it I wrote something I don’t want people to see. He insisted saying no one would read it, I reluctently gave him the paper and saw that it had the short story face up, not sure if he read it but I soon got out of there.
So yeah don’t write on exam papers even if you think they won’t collect it.
Well I’m out with the anime society and they’ve conned me into posting on this blog.
Well I’m in my second term of level 2 at uni now. I’ve been a bit lazy so far this level, quite behind with work and stuff, I just don’t have motivation anymore. I dunno why but hopefully I’ll sort it eventually
I’ve recently taken up the sport of fencing, had one lesson so far it was brilliant! I really enjoyed it completly tired me out and had me in pain for a week. X_X! My arms are still hurting as I write this. Hopefully they will be fine for tommorow, as I have my next lesson then.
I’ve been reading alsorts of manga and watching alsorts of anime though I must admit this season is dam dull! what about you guys enjoying anything?
I’m not going to promise that I’ll update this very often because clearly I can’t keep such promises but maybe I’ll update from time to time if you guys harrass me enough!

Well I went in to town today, while I was there I went into the army recruitment office and grabbed some information on the jobs they have. The reason for this is that I’m considering a military based job after my degree. I’m obviously not thinking a fighting role, I’m more on the technology side, working with their it systems and stuff. Admittedly I’m still wavering as to what I want to do careerswise after I finish university. Guess I need to do a lot of thinking on the topic.
On the way back I got my hair cut, I’ve been meaning to get it cut since mid-summer; I’m just glad I got it done before freshers week. I’m not overly sure if I like it , though I tend to hate my hair after I get it cut and then go on to like it, So maybe I’ll like it latter in the week.
I’ll get you that next part of the video tour towards the end of next week hopefully.
Well what can I say I’ve had a rather busy day working on the open day for NTU today. They again placed me on accommodation which can really take it out of you, my voice is very dead after repeating the same lines a lot of times; I wouldn’t be shocked if I have the lines committed to memory for the rest of my life! I was also welcoming some fantastic international post-grad students yesterday, which was a lot of fun indeed. A few of them weren’t so good at English, but they all seemed to enjoy themselves.
I decided to sign up for an extra course at NCN, This course runs one night a week for 8 weeks and is focused on cooking. I’ve gone with this as a means to stop me drinking and means to improve my cooking skills, which I feel is always worthwhile. I start this is October.
I also finally got the results back from my referral exams which I’m glad to say I passed with flying colours; taught me one hell of lesson doing them, next time I’ll pass first time!
I’ll do the next part of my video tour when things have slowed down a little for me. Maybe tomorrow or in the week.
Hey guys! Well a few things to mention this time. For a start I’ve moved into my house! I moved in on Monday, when I got the rest of my stuff over here and mostly set-up, Though I did get most things done on the Friday before. Today I had Internet, TV and apparently a Phone Line setup. Though the phone line isn’t working, so I have to wait till next Monday for Virgin Media (VM) to come and have a look at it. The Internet connection to say the least is bloody brilliant! Fastest home connection I’ve ever had. I’m paying for 20 Mega Bits (roughly 2 MiB/s) and I’m getting 20 Mega Bits, which is a nice change I can tell you. The TV is really just a free-view box disguised as a VM box, but it’s nice to have it.
So in short yeah it’s backing to cooking and cleaning for myself again. While this might sound daunting I actually really love being independent; while I know I’ve always got my mums house and meals etc if I want them, they are kind of a guilty pleasure. It feels far more gratifying to eat meals you pre-paired and cooked yourself, though seldom tastes as good X_X.
Tomorrow I’m going to start work on a little video project, in which I will give you all a very good tour of the house. So give me a few days with that, it’s going to be epic! But for now I’ll leave you with a still shot of my bed .
My lovely, bouncy, comfy bed. I probably should of straightened it a bit before taking this photo.
I met with my landlord today and she gave me my term time house keys. I don’t intend to move in till Monday though, I’m just in and out of Nottingham this week repeatedly. I’ve also ordered us out Internet connection, I’ve got us a decent deal with virgin media; we get Internet 20Mb/s (Works out about 2 MiB/s (Megabytes) ) with unmetred bandwidth, we also get a TV box with 45 Channels, and a phone with free UK land-line calls on weekends. All for £31 a month! Expecting it to arrive Tuesday. Also went to ASDA earlier to buy a few bits and bobs ready for when I move in, just normal stuff like a double bed quilt, cover, sheet etc, and a few other things. When I officially move in I’ll record a video tour of the place, and plop it on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.
Well I’ve finally coned my lazy self into starting my maths revision. I‘ve the test Thursday; however looking over the papers I’ve more than enough time to get ready for it. I’ll definitely kick up my diligence this coming academic year, this has really taught me a lesson that quite frankly I needed to learn. Worked my way through Matrices this evening not sure what I’ll go into tomorrow, but I’m going to start a lot earlier than I did today so I’ll get through a great deal more.
After being harassed and harassed into posting something on this blog by loads of people I thought I would oblige.
Well as you probably guessed I have finished my first year at NTU, sadly I failed two exams due to extreme laziness. I have already reseated one, which I think I did brilliant on! My next one is on Wednesday the 3rd of September.
I’ve been living at home all summer, but I’m getting ready to move into my house now, send me a message if your in notts and we’ll go for a drink or somthing.
Me wearing my student ambassador t-shirt while on a residential.
During this summer, I’ve been doing loads of work for the uni as a student ambassador. I’ve been working with year 6’s 9’s 10’s and 12’s and even run two overnight trips, one spanning 2 nights, one spanning 4. I must admit that my respect for aim-higher dropped a lot on the one evnt that they run, they didn’t seem to have a clue as to what they were doing. I’m just glad they don’t run the student ambassador sceam, that’s run by NTU.
This week I’ve officially quit WoW, in doing so I stepped down as an officer to my guild. I will miss those guys as they were all awesome, and kept me entertianed! I’m starting on Aion this September which I’ve been eyeing up all summer, it looks to be a brilliant game!
I plan to do a few more video diary stuffs on YouTube this year as I didn’t really stick to it last year. As always I’ll keep my Facebook updated, and I’ve recently got a Twitter account, make sure to follow me on that. I’ll also post more here but not just about me, I’ll probably post a little about my expriences in Aion and other stuff too.
Well my life at uni has been going ok, my marks are keeping up and stuff, though I feel need to inject some diligence to bring my self back up to standards with the course.
I’ve found a house with 2 friends to live in next year it’s looking good, we’ve paid the deposit all we need now is to hand over the contracts. We all get a huge double bedrooms, my rooms going to be the biggest as it’s in the attic. The landlord is also very nice which helps.
I’m getting very involved with my student rep and ambassador duties now which is always fun/interesting.
I’ve been play World of Warcraft far too much lately, I guess the Wrath of the Lich King expansion really got me hucked on it again. I’ve also been reading the Warcraft novels, so far I’ve read, “Day of the Dragon”, and “The Well of Eternity”, I’m working my way through “The Demon Soul” and I’m about half way through. I bought all of the books so I’ve got a lot of reading to do ^_^!
Lately I’ve been keeping my contact with back home quite high, which is nice. After all it was my friends and family that got me where I am today, and I’m very grateful for all they’ve done for me.
I’m going to go see War of the worlds at the Trent FM Arena in June, I can’t wait! I love the CD, it will be my first tiem listening to classical music live so it should be really fun. The price however is less to be desired, £62! I’m allready cripled because of my deposit on the house. But oh well I really want to go, so my ticket has been booked. (Thanks Josh.) Luckly I’ve got a grant coming in a few days which should see me fine.
I’ve been sleeping a lot lately, my sleeping pattern keeps going out of sync and I seem to be sleeping longer than I used to, I’m not old yet! What the hell is happening!?
My cooking has really improved this year I’ve branched out to quite a menu, I always find cooking to be a lot of fun, I came to uni with a basic knowledge of how to feed myself which helped, but seeing how much it’s improved makes me happy, and keeps me well fed.
