Ok I know I forgot about this thing, sorry :D

Hey guys it’s been a while, hmm where to start…

Well my life at uni has been going ok, my marks are keeping up and stuff, though I feel need to inject some diligence to bring my self back up to standards with the course.

I’ve found a house with 2 friends to live in next year it’s looking good, we’ve paid the deposit all we need now is to hand over the contracts. We all get a huge double bedrooms, my rooms going to be the biggest as it’s in the attic. The landlord is also very nice which helps.

I’m getting very involved with my student rep and ambassador duties now which is always fun/interesting.

I’ve been play World of Warcraft far too much lately, I guess the Wrath of the Lich King expansion really got me hucked on it again. I’ve also been reading the Warcraft novels, so far I’ve read, “Day of the Dragon”, and “The Well of Eternity”, I’m working my way through “The Demon Soul” and I’m about half way through. I bought all of the books so I’ve got a lot of reading to do ^_^!

Lately I’ve been keeping my contact with back home quite high, which is nice. After all it was my friends and family that got me where I am today, and I’m very grateful for all they’ve done for me.

I’m going to go see War of the worlds at the Trent FM Arena in June, I can’t wait! I love the CD, it will be my first tiem listening to classical music live so it should be really fun. The price however is less to be desired, £62! I’m allready cripled because of my deposit on the house. But oh well I really want to go, so my ticket has been booked. (Thanks Josh.) Luckly I’ve got a grant coming in a few days which should see me fine.

I’ve been sleeping a lot lately, my sleeping pattern keeps going out of sync and I seem to be sleeping longer than I used to, I’m not old yet! What the hell is happening!?

My cooking has really improved this year I’ve branched out to quite a menu, I always find cooking to be a lot of fun, I came to uni with a basic knowledge of how to feed myself which helped, but seeing how much it’s improved makes me happy, and keeps me well fed.

If I think of any more drabble to add I will do :).

OMG it’s nearly been a month!

Blimey! It’s been nearly a month since I updated this thing!,

Well I’m really settled into Uni nowadays, I’m drinking way too much and not studying enough, so yeah I guess now that makes me a Uni student :D. I’ve had a few tests this week and I got one tomorrow. They made me realise I’m not studying enough.  Hopefully I can kick myself into being far more diligent.  I’ve finally got myself a Dictaphone though so I hope that will help me study. I’m getting on really well with my colleagues; they make me laugh.

My social life has been nuts since I got here, I’ve been to quite a few of the clubs in Nottingham, I never thought I’d be one to be going to clubs, heck I still don’t. I do certainly prefer the pub atmosphere to that of a club as it’s far more sociable, you can actually talk to people and be heard for a start! One thing I would like to recommend anyone coming to university is that should make sure you have a reliable proof of age ID, not a citizen card or student card; you must have either a passport or a driving licence. (This can be a provisional licence.) I’ve been denied entry to a few places due to this issue; I don’t think it’s fair that we should have to spend either £50 for a driving licence or £80 for a passport just to get inside to spend more money X_X! But I’ve had no choice other than to send off for a provisional driving licence.  The reason why despite the fact that they government and police approved that citizen cards or any card with the PASS logo can’t be used is because some bouncers are retards and think they aren’t checked properly, least that’s what I think they usually have their own reasons for this.

I’m trying to get around to making a website for the NTU anime society but I’ve been over lazy. I’m starting to annoy myself with it. Anyway I’ll stop this self hate ramble before I turn it into a massive paragraph on why I’m a lazy B*****d.

I’m starting to buy a lot of Manga recently, the reason for that is there is an awesome Manga shop in Nottingham that caters for any Manga fan.  I’ve bought about 6 books so far with plans to buy more, I’m going to start collecting the Tsubasa books; the first 3 were pretty good and made me want to buy more!

I’m slowly starting to build up an arsenal of cooking recipes, so I’m eating fairly ok, I always make more than I can eat and I just freeze the left over and eat it another day, in the freezer right now I have a curry (korma) and some shepherd’s pie (Though my Mum made that to be fair, however I can make it ^_^).

I’ve got a busy week ahead of me now, I’ve got 2 student rep meetings/conferences to attend, another meeting, and first aid training session! Not to mention my lessons on top. I’m really looking forward to the first aid training as it will qualify me as a first aider for 3 years! I’ve got it because of being a committee member of a society. The student union has made first aid courses cheaply available to all society committee members! It was only £5 cost to me!

Looks like I’m going to be busy ^_^

Well time to update everybody I guess!

My course is finally starting to get more interesting; no more introduction talks and stuff, so I’m happy about that. I’m managing to keep up with my work, though I keep leaving my homework late X_X! I best start being more diligent with it.

I’ve been made the student rep for my course, so I’ll be doing a lot of work ensuring everybody on my course is happy with how things are being taught. I get free training and experience out of it; this means it’s a brilliant CV boost! I’ve got to meet with a member of the British Computing Society on Thursday the 30th at 9am!!!!! This normally wouldn’t be a problem but I’m going out the night before X_X, guess I’ll just leave a bit early.

I’ve joined the Nottingham Trent University Anime Society. They seem to be a good bunch, I can really relate to a lot of them so I think I’ll make some really good friends there! I’ve also joined the committee for it, as the website administrator. So that’s another boost for my CV :). We’re all meeting up Wednesday night and having a drink. As I mentioned above I’ll probably have to leave a little early. It’s a costume party (Since it’s the day before Halloween), So I’ll get my first chance to use the zombie costume I bought. I’ll put up some pictures if I take any.

I’m also thinking about being a Student Ambassador. This will involve me working with school, and sixth form/college pupils to get them interested in university and what it can do for them.

As you’ve probably guessed by now, I’m doing all I can to boost my CV. The reason for this is that when I leave uni, my degree alone will not get me a job! It’s all about what you do while your there! So hopefully doing these things will build me a very impressive CV, I’ll do other stuff next year as well, for example I’m hoping to be a Microsoft Student Partner.

I’ve succumbed to buying a TV licence. Reason being is that the internet for my accommodation is really poor and slow, so I can’t rely on the internet for entertainment any more. I’m using a little USB dongle for it so I didn’t have to buy a tv set, I just play it through my laptop and get freeview as well ^_^.

Yo guys

Ok it’s been over a week so I conned my lazy ass in to writing an entry!

Well welcome week is over now, I’m both glad and sad to be honest. I’m happy because now I’m finally doing something intellectual rather than wasting my loan money on drink X_X. Some guys are still drinking every night even now, leave them to it I guess. But alas drink was fun, as drinking always is, I was lucky enough to completely avoid hangovers which shocked me because of the amount I drank, I guess it’s cause I was extra careful not to mix my drinks. I did stay sober for the last few nights of welcome week, because by then I was feeling pretty ill, I still am but it’s on it’s way out now. (I’m not been 100% since the Wednesday before I moved in.) The last time I drank was on the rave night, which was Friday the 10th, that was a fun night, I went to town/city for that to get a load of stuff; I bought glow sticks (Loads of em!), blue neon face paint, and some neon blue hair-gel. Since my hair is dark you couldn’t really see the hair gel except when light shone on it.

This how did the face paint for the rave night.

This how did the face paint for the rave night.

This week we started lecturs, but we’ve not really covered anything yet! They mostly did introduction talks about what we will be doing, a few taught a little bit but I knew the stuff they were teaching X_X.  I guess my real learning porcess will start next week.  I’m really looking forward to progressing through this course, sure Uni has a big social side to it, and I intend to enjoy it, but it’s not what I came here for! I’m here to learn and get a degree!

Freshers Fair

It was freshers fair today, this is when all the university student run societies come out and advertise themselves to us. It was somewhat smaller than I was expecting but oh well. I think I’m going to join the anime society and the computing society, the computing society does really do much other than play games though. The anime club seems interesting, I might end up cos-playing or something and going to anime cons but all in good fun I guess :D.

Tonight I’m going to oceana which looks to be a good night, if I get a lot of footage I’ll upload a video or something.

My first few days

I’ve been having awesome time, got drunk 2 nights in a row. I moved in on Friday, I was the first in my flat to arrive, and only 1 other came that day. Thank god some more came yesterday. My flat mates are all pretty good people and friendly. All in all there are 2 blokes (including me) and 4 girls. I’m also friendly with most of the people in the block so all’s good. Tonight is a quite night, there is a comedy show on at the SU but I’m not sure if I’ll go. I need to let me self get better, I’ve had a cold for 4 days X_X.

Anyway I promised a video post along side this so here you are:

Getting ready to go.

Well I leave for Uni on Friday, I’ve manged to get accomodation on campus in Peverell Court, which is great for me :D. I’m just busy buying any last minute things I’ll need, eg soap, pots and pans.

I went to the pub with some friends a few days back as a sorta leaving party/piss up, I have some great friends back here, it’s sad to leave them behind especialy Adam! He has helped me so much in the past few years, I could not possibly do him justice in words.

Tommrow I’m going to London with a friend we’re going to the Microsoft student conferrence which looks to be very interesting. I’ll try and get a video log post up once I move into my dorm.

Sorry this post is so short but I’m a little pressed for time, I need to get some sleep since I need wake up for my bus to London.

A-Level Results

Well today is results day and I must say, I’m in shock! I can’t believe I manged to get:

A in OCR Computing A-level - 120 UCAS Points.
D in AQA Archaeology A-level - 60 UCAS Points.
C in OCR ICT AS-level - 40 UCAS Points.

My place has been confirmed at Nottingham Trent University, and I’ve enrolled. Now I just need to sort out my accomodation, though I think I’m going to take the train for the first few weeks.

I’m overjoyed at my computing mark! Me and 1 other this year are the only ones to have ever gained A at computing in my school. I’m having a small party with my close friends tommrow, so I’m super happy right now. :)

Well done to all recieving their results today.

EMA + Uni Finance

My Ema bonus finaly came in!!! So I’ve been able to pay my hosting bill sooner than I thought. Not sure what I’ll do with the rest of it. I was going to buy more RAM for my laptop, but this is the only spending money I’m gonna have for a bit so I don’t think I will. I’ll just keep a hold of it for now.

I’ve also had my reply from student finance today, which tell me how much I’ll be getting. It works out around: £7,200

This is not including the tuition loan which goes to the uni (£3,145). It also includes the £1,000 grant I got from Aimhigher (EMSTA).

I’ll also probably get around £1,310 from NTU (Not included in above figure).

So yeah I’m happy!
